Said to be designed to bring the gastropub experience to Liverpool. Actually I thought it had already arrived, but I am not contesting the point. So, Liverpool, this is it you lucky people. In fact it's an improvement on the standard format in my view, being not so large as some, where it is possible to be found still wandering the following morning. The décor would do justice to a country house without the portraits and the oak bar is superb. Traditional country fare is on offer with such well-loved items as bangers and mash, cheese ravioli, ciabatta sandwiches and Caesar salad.
