The Modern
Urbis, Cathedral Gardens, Manchester, M4 3BG
Stark and stunning, The Modern is a new age restaurant located on the top most floors of the iconic Urbis in Manchester. The décor is chic with clean spaces, although the complete effect achieved is that of warmth where one can just sit back and enjoy a drink at their bar on level 6, and take in the splendid views of the city. Classic British cooking with a passion for producing the best of seasonal fare is the highlight of this place and you can expect to start with a Loch Fyne potted smoked mackerel with wholemeal toast and pickled cucumber. They do the mains well, and you really should try the wild mushroom tart with wilted spinach, poached ducks egg and mustard leaf salad. As for the chocolate melting fondant with black cherry ice cream to end your meal, what better way could there be? The bar is well stocked with bin end wines and other reds and whites, while they also have champagne, aperitifs and digestifs if you so wish.Stark and stunning, The Modern is a new age restaurant located on the top most floors of the iconic Urbis in Manchester.
