The Muntjac
71 High Street, Harrold, nr Bedford, MK43 7BJ
Named after a species of 'barking deer' introduced to Bedfordshire a century ago, The Muntjac is a 300-year-old former coaching inn that has been recently converted into a chic and trendy bar with a menu that is distinctly Indian. A wonderful and welcoming place, the restaurant is made up of stone walls with lovely oak beams along the ceilings surrounded by huge windows throughout. The place is divided into two levels, featuring some unique touches: the lower floor adorned by an authentic ingle-nook fireplace and an upper floor with a 300 year old well covered by see-through solid glass. The Indian menu that is served, consists of a mix of traditional and speciality dishes with appetizers of tandoori salmon grilled over charcoal with chef's special spices.Named after a species of 'barking deer' introduced to Bedfordshire a century ago, The Muntjac is a 300-year-old former coaching inn that has been recently converted into a chic and trendy bar with a menu that is distinctly Indian.
