Built as a holiday home for a clergyman in 1774, The Old Thatched Cottage is now a family run restaurant that has been around for forty-five years serving Mediterranean-styled food. The silent white façade conceals a warm décor of dark hues, teak furnishings and carpeted flooring, highlighted by comforting lights. You could stand and watch at the open kitchen as your food gets cooked or sit and relax in the garden or the bar.

Owing to a close proximity to the sea, The Old Thatched Cottage leans towards a seafood menu and the kitchen specialises in fresh fish including sea bass, swordfish and lemon sole. Appetizers of prawns, crayfish tails and scampi pave the way for Greek specialities such as moussaka, layers of mincemeat, aubergine and courgettes topped with a cheese sauce, and kleftiko, a tender lamb cooked in a clay oven.

The wines are mostly French, Spanish or Italian, but a fair share of New World bins help make for an extensive wine list.
