This well-loved Oriental restaurant located on Balham's Bedford Hill is certainly kept busy. The concise menu is made up of delights such as creamy coconut laksa, Thai green curry, garlic and chilli tiger prawns and tasty noodles. Dishes are all a real bargain at around £4-£7 and the bring-your-own alcohol policy keeps prices down even further. The Paddyfields is particularly busy on weekend evenings and as there is a no booking policy it is not unusual to see a small queue forming along the hill to get into this little eatery. My husband and I ate at the Paddyfield last night with friends and found the food and service to be brilliant. We couldn't make up our minds which starters to have so left it to the waiter to surprise us. I highly recommend the garlic chilli prawns and laksa. I will certainly visit the Paddyfield again.

Paddyfield is by far the best Thai/Vietnamese food this side of the river. It has excellent local fare too with good fresh high quality ingredients and excellent service. The Paddyfeild special beef salad is to die for, and the rice paper rolls are heaven. BYO booze what can I say? I recommend The Paddyfield.
