The Parsee
34 Highgate Hill, Archway, London, N19 5NL
Though this is listed as an Indian restaurant, more strictly speaking it is Parsee, and while some of the dishes have the same descriptions as other styles of Indian cooking, the results are very different. This is amply demonstrated by the descriptions of two of their starters: tender fillet of chicken breast marinated in typical Parsee spices, placed on small wooden skewers, rolled in whole meal flour, dipped in beaten egg and deep fried, served with simple tomato gravy flavoured with cinnamon - and fritters of grated carrot, potato, sliced onion and chopped banana blended with spices, chickpea flour and lime juice, deep-fried and served with a fresh green coconut chutney. Inspired by Cyrus Todiwala, most famed for Cafe Spice Namaste , this uncomplicated, brightly decorated place also serves takeaways, and is an excellent addition to the eating out scene in North London.Though this is listed as an Indian restaurant, more strictly speaking it is Parsee, and while some of the dishes have the same descriptions as other styles of Indian cooking, the results are very different.
