The Plough at Bolnhurst

Kimbolton Road, Bolnhurst, Bedford, MK44 2EX

Customers cannot help but feel happy and at ease in The Plough, for it reminds people of days gone by - the building traces its roots back to Tudor times - low beams, an intriguing layout and open fires create an intimate atmosphere. The kitchen is open to view, a feature which draws you forward into the heart of the building. The sights and sounds of chefs at work are irresistible for some, and this combined with the aroma of fresh food is very appealing indeed! The menu delivers exciting English food with strong Italian and French influences. Expect to find char-grilled squid with rocket, followed by roast best end of Cornish lamb with summer salad, and baked leek tart with red onion marmalade and roast golden beets.

REVIEWS OF The Plough at Bolnhurst

Andrea Thasan (4 October 2008)

This is a fantastic restaurant with a local friendly feel. The food is of an extremely high quality, the fish dishes are superb and the cote de boeuf for two comes highly recommended and melts in your mouth along with the sirloin of beef Sunday roast. The restaurant serves lovely warm home cooked bread on arrival and are very accommodating to individual requests and preferences and are very child friendly, preparing smaller portions when required. The pistachio soufflé is to die for and the baked rice and sticky toffee puddings are fantastic and the wine list is great as is the local beers. It is lovely sitting outside in the summer and we think it is by far the best restaurant in Bedford.
