The Polecat Inn
170 Wycombe Road, Prestwood, nr High Wycombe, HP16 0HJ
An always busy large pub, which at first sight you might be forgiven for passing by. Big mistake! Provided you can cope with the busy-ness, which to be fair is quite a lot of fun if you are into people-watching, you will be in for a real surprise. Good vegetarian food, lots of it, efficient staff and all the delights of a well-stocked pub to go with it.Gastropub

REVIEWS OF The Polecat Inn
Jan Lee (17 January 2010)
It’s always an enjoyable experience, lovely garden for use in the summer. Portions are generous and varied menu. Table can be booked for 6 people or more, I am pretty sure, as I usually book.
Mary Payne (2 June 2006)
I've eaten here many times and the food is always excellent. It's a place where you would never hesitate to bring guests. It makes such a change to have a good range of imaginative vegetarian options that don't include the dreaded 'bought in' vegetable lasagne.
I'm very pleased The Polecat now takes credit cards, as you used to have to remember to take plenty of cash or a cheque book.
The only down side is the inability to book a table if you want one at a particular time and date and having to take the risk that the non-smoking section might be full. Roll on the smoking ban!
