REVIEWS OF The Posthouse
Gazzapster (6 January 2012)
We visited the Post Hose last night for the second time in a week and were once again hugely impressed with the service, the food, the surroundings, the innovation and the value.
There are a lot of rumours floating around the town about the restauarant and its service and pricing policy. I think this is because it offers fine dining which is to Michelin standard with the accompanying price point, but it also offers fabulous food and drink in the Bistro. Seven of us dined there last night and the bill including all drinks and wine was £199. Two of us had one of the Specials for the night which was one of the tastiest T-Bone steaks I have eaten anywhere. The headchef came out and a had a chat with us about the meal and was looking for feedback. Then the owner joined us for ten minutes and explained that they have hired 80 people and most of the staff are new and learning. He was aware that some peole had had a bad experience due to the staff climbing the learning curve, but he seems determined to make the restaurant a magnet for all foodies between B'ham and Manchester. They have invested a huge amount in the surroundings. They have a top class chef and caring management. They have become a substantial employer and I am sure that as more people experience what they have to offer they will get a handsome return on their investment. the pricing in the bars and Bistro is no more expensive than most places in and around Stafford. If you havent been yet, check it out. I think that Stafford will become very proud of The Post House.

The Pillar restaurant at the Post House is certainly an oasis of ‘fine dining’ in Staffordshire. Our meal was outstanding and the service attentive yet unobtrusive. We met the internationally renown chief, who was interested to listen to our feedback. Yes, you do pay for this standard of dining but it was worth every penny. We intend to go again!
