REVIEWS OF The Promised Land Bar and Restaurant

Linda and Jess (30 June 2010)

I read reviews about this place and went with my daughter today to try it out! Amazing place, the lady was just so friendly and lovely. The food was simply superb and could not be faulted in any way at all. The service was excellent too. We had the onion rings and nachos to start. We struggled to eat it all fantastic portions - my daughter had a ploughmans which was divine with the most succulent carved ham. I had the gammon which was lovely too! We will definitely be going back for more. I would say this is one of the nicest places to eat in Cardiff.

Toni (8 May 2009)

I absolutely love this place for my lunch. I work in Cardiff once a month and look forward to it for this food alone. The staff are so friendly and will do anything to be helpful. You go a second time and are recognised and welcomed back like an old friend. Everything is locally produced and tastes amazing. The drawbacks? 1) Everything is cooked to order so never go if you are in a hurry. You can wait 25 minutes for a soup but it is so worth it. Once you have been before you can phone ahead and order to time with your arrival. 2) They don't always have all items on the menu. The food is so fresh they only serve what was available fresh that day. I am a dedicated carnivore but invariably have the vegetable crumble as I have never tasted such flavoursome vegetables in my life. I recently went to Jerusalem with friends and we joked that the Cardiff Promised Land offered the best cuisine.
