The Providores and Tapa Room
109 Marylebone High Street, London, W1U 4RX
Started by top chefs Peter Gordon and Anna Hansen and their business partners Michael McGrath and Jeremy Leeming, The Providores has both an informal Tapa Room downstairs where you can share high stool tables and where there's always a lively buzz, or if you prefer things a little more formal the upstairs restaurant will probably be more to your liking. The differing menus offer the likes of grilled sardines on roast tomato bruschetta in the Tapa Room and in the restaurant you'll find choices like roast brill on saffron potatoes; spiced snapper baked in banana leaf with bean sprout, peanut, chilli and coriander salad and green coconut sauce; or lamb shank braised with potatoes and green olives with minted harissa, and considerably higher prices.Started by top chefs Peter Gordon and Anna Hansen and their business partners Michael McGrath and Jeremy Leeming, The Providores has both an informal Tapa Room downstairs where you can share high stool tables and where there's always a lively buzz, or if you prefer things a little more formal the upstairs restaurant will probably be more to your liking.

Breakfast is also served from Monday to Friday, 9 - 11.30 am, and on Saturday and Sunday brunch is a great feature.
In 2003 Providores were awarded the prestigious Newcomer of the Year Catey by Caterer and Hotelkeeper, judge Ramón Pajares, formerly MD of The Savoy Group, commented, "Operating different concepts is a brave and difficult thing to do and they've done it with flair and creativity."
