The Rams Head Inn

Ripponden Road, Denshaw, OL3 5UN

In addition to being well fed you will also get a healthy breath of moorland air at this attractive pub way up towards the Pennines. No matter, when you get there you may be delighted to find that whilst the menu is all embracing it does monitor on fish - yes, fish, two miles from the highest junction of the M62. People regularly undertake the journey to enjoy the food and pleasant atmosphere at this rather romantic spot. Note also the work of a diplomatic landlord who, located on the border, installed two window panels, one for the Red and another for the White Rose. If you enjoy fine food and wine, then you might be interested in visiting The Pantry at The Rams Head, which is selling locally sourced meats and home produced products including pies and fresh baked bread, with a full range of wines and champagne also.

REVIEWS OF The Rams Head Inn

Ian (27 March 2010)

We visited the Rams Head Inn, last night. The food was simply delicious with a warm friendly service to match. It’s such a pleasure to visit a restaurant that offers dining and individuality to a high standard, when we live surrounded by soulless large company owned food factories.

David and Elizabeth (31 December 2009)

Ignore the negative reviews, this place is fantastic - a creative menu of freshly cooked and locally produced food, wonderful service and a magical location. We have been going to the Rams Head for many years and our only negative comment was that the toilets were very old fashioned. This is a problem no longer as toilet areas have recently been revamped. We travel from Preston on a regular basis to eat here. Keep up your excellent standards Stuart.
