The Seahorse Restaurant

5 South Embankment, Dartmouth, TQ6 9BH

For seafood aficionados, there's nothing better than a waterside restaurant that turns out fresh and beautifully prepared dishes that deliver all that they promise. At The Seahorse Restaurant, run by famed restaurateur Mitch Tonks, the emphasis is on creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and the focus lies on using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients for all the dishes. The decidedly Mediterranean décor is offset by the stylish antique mirrors and ochre leather seating where it becomes all too easy to meet friends over lunch. With the tidal river Dart as inspiration, go ahead and choose fried squid with aioli for starters and then, sample the fish of the day which could be plaice fillets fried in breadcrumbs with chips and tartare sauce.

REVIEWS OF The Seahorse Restaurant

Ashley (20 October 2008)

We just had our first meal at The Seahorse and I won't take long to go back. It was fantastic, with great food, great wine, and really excellent service. It was my wife's birthday, although they didn't know that at the restaurant, but they looked after us really well. The food was the best. I had shrimps on toast, then skate with black butter, my wife had local crab with mayonnaise, and then charcoal grilled monkfish, all of it was faultless. This was a real find and is better than most restaurants rated highly in London. We will be back soon.
