On a dreadful, bitterly cold day, just before Christmas, we arrived too early for our first ever booking at Sisters, Kelvingrove, but were welcomed like valued regulars. We were seated at a table with great street views and two radiators, and brought the menu. This made wonderful reading - given the capacity and cash, I could have worked my way through the card! The value for the three courses - 5 or 6 choices per course - is phenomenal. Likewise the wine - a very modest price, for a restaurant. Chef-proprietor Jacqueline popped out a couple of times to chat, and the whole meal was a joy. The place got really busy with celebration lunches, but we never felt ignored. The food itself tasted fresh and cooked to perfection, and there were some intriguingly different dishes on offer. I would warmly recommend Sisters to anybody.

We booked dinner for eight pm on a Friday of February and took our children along who are well behaved and are four and nine years old. We had three courses from the a la carte menu with a glass of wine included for £22.95, which was great value given the quality of the food we received. Children receive a half portion of the adult meals for half adult prices. They were very happy to accommodate changes for the children’s meals and they in fact received adult sized portions for half the adult cost. Although we were the only diners with kids I would still return - this place is a real find.
