After your stroll round Penshurst Place where better to take some refreshment than the Spotted Dog, a traditional weather-boarded old pub, renowned for its panoramic views over the Weald. The whole place reeks of antiquity and the large garden will seat up to 350 if need be, and it quite often does for the pub itself is not big. The blackboards list such delicacies as wild boar sausages, heart-warming soups, splendid steaks and vegetable curries. We had a lovely meal on a bank holiday. The pub was busy and everyone was enjoying themselves in the sunshine. The food was excellent, and the staff very accommodating and friendly. It was our second visit, and we'll definitely go again.

I have been to the spotted dog pub a few times in the last few months. I have to say it is fantastic. The food and menu is great, hot and cooked well. The staff are very friendly and seem to bend over backwards to accommodate you. When talking to the waitress, she told me that the pub changed hands in the summer, for the better. The new owners have already had those awful toilets re modernized and cleaned. The inside of the pub looks great with having a new lounge area. We just love it, its just such a shame that previous landlords destroyed such a beautiful pub. Well fingers crossed these new landlords continue to do well. Definitely worth the visit!
