The interior has been recently refurbished by the new owners, Adrian and Susie Brunswick, to create a light, airy and cheerful feel. The kitchen serves traditional pub food using fresh, locally sourced produce.

Expect to find chicken and wild mushroom terrine layered with leek and rocket on top of sourdough watercress and homemade piccalilli and fresh mussels steamed in alleycat ale among starters. Mains may consist of seared English venison steak on a bed of curly kale with a red currant and port jus and crispy leg of confit duck with puy lentils, lardons and root vegetable casserole.
