The Thai Orchid

33-39 St Jame's Street, King's Lynn, PE30 5DA

The Thai Orchid in King's Lynn is the real thing all right; definitely not another mediocre Asian restaurant trying to ride the wave of Thai popularity and is a fantastic dining choice if you're on the lookout for some delicious and authentic Oriental food. The magnificent décor employs genuine artefacts imported from the Far East and the minute detailing right up to the colour of the napkins and the soft music in the background embellishes the atmosphere. Apart from the à la carte menu, there's a buffet which is offered throughout the week with about 15 different dishes every day. Starters might refer to the deep fried prawns and vegetables in Thai butter served with sweet chilli sauce with a main course of a hot sizzler of beef with onions, mushrooms, peppers and spring onions.

REVIEWS OF The Thai Orchid

Andy (3 September 2009)

The Thai Orchid is a real gem. The service is as friendly as it can be and the staff are always very accommodating. They are keen to suggest meals you may like and go out of their way to assist. My main use of the restaurant is for lunch boxes. They offer a main meal and small starter in handy takeaway containers, with napkin, fork and spoon, all for the bargain price of £3.95, and much healthier and tastier than any fast food joints. I thoroughly recommend kemau spicy pork with jasmine rice and pork toast to start. They also offer fixed price seated lunches from £4.95 and service is usually swift. If I could give the Thai Orchid a star rating, I'd give it 5/5.
