This was our first time eating at the Tiger's Eye. Although we arrived early, the staff were quick to welcome us and explain the restaurant's menu and ethos. The speciality is ‘black rock grill,’ where a volcanic rock is heated to extreme temperature and brought to the table with a meat or fish steak grilling on top. You then remove the meat when it is cooked to your liking. We opted for the more traditional meals cooked in the kitchen. Our starter was stir fry won-ton beef with shitake mushrooms, which was extremely tasty, the beef very tender. We then had the surf and turf and the pork belly for main. The surf and turf was dressed with sweet chilli sauce and the steak, as asked for, was actually blue, a rare treat in the UK and was extremely tender. The chips which came on the side were perfectly cooked. The pork belly was beautifully seasoned and melted in the mouth, accompanied by pork and ginger dumplings, which were delicious. All in all, highly recommended - best restaurant in Gloucester!
