The Royal Wells Hotel owes its noble title to Queen Victoria, who made frequent visits there as a young princess in the early nineteenth century. The air of Victorian sophistication has not diminished ever since. At the vibrant Wells Brassiere, the multi-hued cushions and brasserie style seating add to the pleasant informality. The menu varies from day to day and is an appealing mix of recognisable favourites like smoked bacon with Parmesan and rocket salad in olive dressing and grilled 8oz rib eye steak with French fries, blue cheese and garlic butter.
