REVIEWS OF Torres - Tapas Restaurant and Wine Bar
Mume (15 November 2008)
We went there this evening before a show at the Kings. There was no pre theatre menu, but adequate choices on the regular menu. We sat at the rear of the restaurant, which is a popular choice. The meal was good, we had three choices each, the most popular being the prawns in batter and the lamb and potato in red wine and we had two colas. The bill arrived and was split 50/50. As there was no service charge so a tip was applied. I put down my ‘share’ and so did my companion, but a few minutes later the waiter and subsequently the manager questioned the ‘tip’ they had been left with. It turned out my companion had accidentally put down a £20 and a £10 instead of two tens and we may not have noticed the shortfall until much later in the evening. Thank you not only for such a nice meal, but more importantly for your honesty.

This is a nice restaurant, but the food was very disappointing. The goats’ cheese in pastry was actually just the skin of the cheese. The garlic bread had no garlic, and then we got a waiter who argued with us.
