Ever wondered if breakfast at a Russian restaurant would work? At Trojka it certainly does and there is something really appealing about this colourful Regent Park Road restaurant and tea room. As you might expect from the name it is eastern European at heart with the kitchen celebrating flavours from Poland and Russia.

It's open all day until late and the breakfast list takes in some runaway favourites such as chicken Romanoff with apricots in a spicy curry and yogurt sauce, and vegetarian sausage, latke and mushrooms. Evenings are a different story altogether when the place comes alive, especially on weekends with musicians quick to provide some aural pleasures, and then who would not like a bowl of borscht with sour cream to accompany? If you'd appreciate something profoundly traditional there's a coulibiak, a traditional Russian salmon pie of mushrooms, spinach, rice and buckwheat served with fresh tomato sauce.

The drinks list at Trojka is not to be overlooked and there are Georgian wines from one of the oldest wine producing regions in Europe.
