REVIEWS OF Tumbledown Farm
Two Very Satisfied Customers (8 July 2011)
On arrival at the Tumbledown Farm we were greeted by friendly staff and shown to a table for two. Our drinks order was taken straight away and we were given menus to peruse while they were poured. The drinks were served promptly and our questions about the menu were answered with a smile. We ordered the soup of the day each and a carvery. The soup was a very tasty, home made leek and potato soup with fresh baked bread and softened butter served in pots to use as you required. Our tables were cleared and we were told that we could go up to the carvery when we were ready. There were four meats on offer - roast pork, Angus beef, turkey and stuffed belly pork. My husband had the beef and I, the belly pork which were served with our choice of Yorkshire pudding, stuffing balls and chipolata sausages. We helped ourselves from an ample choice of vegetables which included carrots, parsnips, savoy cabbage, leeks, roast potatoes, creamy mashed potatoes and new potatoes. There was also nice gravy and a choice of freshly made sauces and condiments to accompany the meal. The beef was cooked beautifully still retaining some pinkness and being very moist and tender. The belly pork was delicious with a nice crispy crackling. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, with soft roast potatoes, crispy outside and the Yorkshire puddings were huge. All in all, we had a lovely meal served by pleasant staff in a nice friendly atmosphere. We will definitely go again.

We visited this pub 2 months ago and said - never again. But heard a new Management had arrived, so tried last week, yes very busy on Sunday, but what an improvement! We'll be back again!
