Duke's Head Restaurant

Visitors to King's Lynn in North Norfolk will quickly realise that the Duke's Head Hotel is an unmistakable landmark in this lively port town and with its daunting Georgian structure and rich history, it has proved to be a huge source of pride amongst the locals.

Hare Arms Country Pub & Restaurant, The

Another qualifier in my real country inn contest, The Hare Arms has a long and colourful history, not least its association with Emma Sayles, legendary landlady from 1878 to 1934, who at the Jubilee celebrations fed and watered 1,380 happy revellers in two marquees with "substantial dinners of beef, mutton, plum pudding, etc", well washed down with tea brewed in the boiler of a handy steam roller.

Lord Nelson, The

At the time (2005) when the country is celebrating the bi-centennial of the Battle of Trafalgar, and Lord Nelson's part in that greatest of victories, it seems nothing short of a national disgrace that The Lord Nelson at Burnham Thorpe lacks an entry on this site.
