Taka and Charlotte Nakamoto opened Momiji Japanese Restaurant and Bar in August 2003. In Japanese, the word Momiji is the name of a tree, the Japanese Maple. This tree is particularly beautiful in the autumn, when the leaves change colour.

There is a certain commonality between New England where, as I write, the immediate future of politics in America is being given a sense of direction, and North Norfolk. This is well illustrated in Old Hunstanton where The Neptune offers English coastal tradition in large measure, with white clapboard walls, scale model boats, Lloyd Loom sofas and chairs, pictures of things coastal, all backed up with a roaring fire, fresh flowers, wooden polished floors and traditional food.

Norfolk Riddle, The

Where I say 'British' I was almost tempted to use instead 'English', but stopped to wonder if I was becoming jingoistic. Then I decided that I was really only thinking of a part of the world which is heaven on earth to me, and where I am delighted that a new initiative is making real inroads into the much vaunted local products line, that sometimes may not always be quite as local as you might be given to understand.
