Arbiter, The
Gastropubs go on and on, opening and closing, opening and . . . The good ones remain, which is where Arbiter comes in, having about it a feeling of permanence and inconsequence that says "take us as we are".

Blue Elephant
The enchanted kingdom that is London's Blue Elephant is one of the UK's leading Thai restaurants. It is a great testament to the restaurant's consistent high standards in both the quality of food and service that, since opening in 1986, it continues to be one of London's most popular dining experiences and is indeed the jewel in the Blue Elephant Group's crown.

De Cecco
A buzzing, lively Italian, serving both classic and innovative dishes, De Cecco is famous for its lobster, spaghetti and its selection of grilled fish, fresh from the coast daily. A favourite with the locals, the restaurant is always full, and the atmosphere is very friendly.

Deep
Fresh from St Katherine's Dock, Christian and Kerstin Sandefeldt have moved up-river to Imperial Wharf, within easy reach of the leafy purlieus of Fulham. Retaining the good bits, of which there were many, from their former restaurant, The Aquarium, it will come as no surprise to see a modern, simple and warm interior, designed by Neil Southard of Fifteen fame.

Little French Restaurant, The
You will find excellent value and a pleasant atmosphere at the friendly, family run Little French Restaurant, which offers traditional food without pretence. They value their 'old school' recipes that may well evoke nostalgia but those who prefer more modern dishes will find that they have not been forgotten either.

Marco
Marco Pierre White and Roman Abranovich have joined forces to replace what was formerly a fish and chip outlet at the entrance to the Chelsea FC ground with a smooth, masculine-chic restaurant which I suspect will not be exactly besieged by its former clients, for whom the nearest available thing to fish and chips could be sea scallops à la Croque, or delicious mussel soup Billy By if you're lucky.

Mr Wing Restaurant & Bar
Mr Wing's décor is somewhat different to what most of us expect to find in London Chinese restaurants, described as 'funky stylish atmosphere'. Now established for fifteen years, it has created quite a following, both for the quality of its food but also for the jazz in the basement.
