Fujiyama is located off Brixton's Coldharbour Lane at the end of Vining Street, and is a contemporary noodle bar which could either evoke fond memories of a visit to Japan or simply excite you with the possibilities of trying a new cuisine. Those who are familiar with the now universal concept of sushi of course will simply enjoy the different delights that can be enjoyed there. Bold and red, the décor suits the restaurant while the canteen style tables can pack in a huge number of diners on a busy night.

There's a huge variety of delicious options which include nigiri, sashimi, makimono and temaki while the bento box is a great alternative if you want to try a little of everything. Healthy miso soups made with soya beans, mushrooms, chicken and noodles could suit you fine, but the don buri is another enticing choice which offers a deep bowl of rice with a selection of toppings with a savoury sauce, accompanied by pickles and soup.

The rule of the mogul dynasty in India was a period that inspires much grandeur both in terms of architecture and food, and Tower Tandoori's interior is designed along similar lines drawing ideas from the cool, shady courtyards of Indian palaces. However, in matters of food and drink the style can be best described as one that follows the current trends in Indian cuisine.

The Goan prawn samosas made with the boldest of spices, fresh water prawns and fresh seasoning, or the haryali lamb chops marinated in traditional herbs and barbecued provide for an exciting introduction. If your palate calls for a heady spice effect try the mirchi murg tikka, chicken marinated in a well balanced Greek yogurt, tamarind and chilli based sauce, or for a touch of something new there's mustaki lamb cooked with fresh garlic, ginger, onions, coriander, fenugreek leaves and homemade yogurt. Gajar ka halwa or Punjabi style carrot pudding continues to hold ground amongst desserts, but it's also refreshing to see cheeni puri, a dish innovatively made of unleavened bread served with spiced sugar syrup.

You can't keep a good Thai down. Thai on the River may have departed from Chelsea Wharf on the North side of the river, but it has now reappeared on the other side. Their exquisite Thai cuisine in elegant surroundings is now available to dine al fresco as well and you can enjoy their wide menu within a combination of diner and wine bar.

Judged as an attractive venue in a prime delightfully secluded location, it's difficult to better this stunning riverside spot. Just a stone's throw away from Battersea Imperial Wharf and Chelsea Harbour, the outside terrace is a big attraction and diners are advised to book in advance to avoid disappointment, particularly on a fine day, with breath-taking views across the River Thames and  a soothing atmosphere from which to see the world go by.

The interior is an epitome of calm and a world apart from the usual tacky décor associated with Oriental restaurants. There is substance as well as style, thanks to the wooden furnishings, soft lighting and well spaced tables. For those who would like to see the stunning city skyline while tucking into some crispy fried chicken fritters, there is conservatory seating as well.
