The Garden Restaurant at Grange & Links Hotel
Sea Lane, Sandilands, Mablethorpe, Sutton-On-Sea, LN12 2RA [Map]
If you're someone who considers golf to be a game that refreshes both body and mind, few other things could match the joys of a weekend spent at the AA three-star Grange and Links Hotel. Located in the quiet holiday resort of Sutton-on-Sea, the family-run refuge also acts as a perfect base to tour the countryside and its lovely beaches.
Sandilands Golf Club's eighteen hole links course is located on the edge of the Lincolnshire coast, and noted for its outstanding greens, dryness, and facility for all-year round golf.
The tranquil Garden Restaurant offers a wonderful atmosphere in which to enjoy the menu's European dishes with an international twist. Those pining for fruits of the sea could go for starters of sautéed mussels in shallots, parsley, Pernod and garlic butter followed by a lovely smoked salmon, prawn, and tuna salad. Other choices encompass stir-fried chicken strips in honey, chilli and soy sauce, and prime fillet of beef served on a croute covered with pâté.
A range of commendable wines from the hotel's cellars complements proceedings.

Seabreeze Restaurant
10-12 High Street, Sutton-On-Sea, LN12 2EX [Map]
With a name like Seabreeze, a cheerful, good-time vibe and a double dose of seaside fun is ensured, but this High Street venue has been a hospitality hotspot since the 1930s when it served as a café, eating house and even accommodated the local police force during the floods in 1953. Now it wears a spanking new look and wows the holiday crowd with quality food and friendliness.
Seafood is undoubtedly a high point here, but there's a glimmer of hope for those who'd like to try meat dishes, and the line up encompasses Lincolnshire black pudding and bacon stack, served with a tomato dressing; pan fried breast of Gressingham duck with a rich orange sauce and chef's special prime 10oz rump steak in a Bateman's ale and onion gravy.
Lunchtime at Seabreeze could bring a refreshing Lincolnshire fresh dressed crab salad, and the popular homemade steak pie served with creamy mash or chips, and peas.
