Georgetown, the restaurant at Colwick Hall Hotel, nestles in a historical building with impressive Palladian style architecture and is surrounded by over sixty acres of parkland. The glory of Lord Byron's ancestral home dates back to the times of Saxons and is now a popular venue for weddings, private dining and corporate events.

The restaurant is described as the first Malaysian one in the UK, and is appropriately decorated in shades of green, a stark contrast to the wooden furniture. Its exquisite front dining room has a stunning ceiling depicting Venus and the cherubs, while the long bar serves interesting cocktails and spirits with Chopin and Mozart playing in the background. Georgetown can accommodate up to seventy guests and also offers private dining facilities.

The theme of colonial charm extends to the kitchen which rustles up Malaysian, Chinese and Indian cuisine with aplomb. You can sample starters like prawn cocktail in vinaigrette and Thousand Island dressing or stir fried noodles cooked with chillies, chicken, prawns, spinach, cauliflower and bean sprouts.

For mains you could settle for the grand four course set meal or select your own menu.  Medallions of beef flavoured with aromatic lemon grass mild chilli and coconut milk and ikan kelapa, fillet of cod rolled in coconut, crispy fried and served with seasonal vegetables are popular options.

There are fine wines and liqueurs to complement your meal and the Singapore sling, a combination of dry gin, warm and spicy cherry, tangy lemon juice, a drop of grenadine and Benedictine floated on the ice is a much loved cocktail at Georgetown. You can also choose Palena Sauvignon blanc or Castillo de Clavijo Rioja Crianza to add charm to your dinner. You can round off your meal with a glass of dessert wine, select from the cheese platter or enjoy a tropical fruit salad with a touch of Amaretto.

Savour the Georgetown experience of sophisticated style and delicious, award winning cuisine in an exotic Malaysian setting.

The first Fat Cat Café Bar opened in Bangor, North Wales in 1992 and since then the group has been steadily expanding to meet the demands of the increasingly discerning customer. They run ten café bars in London, the Midlands, Wales and the North West, and are known to maintain high standards in food and service.

In order to remain at the forefront of café bar culture, a number of their sites have been refurbished during the past year. All outlets offer just the right environment to relax - with comfortable leather sofas and private booths. Large projection screens show live sporting events and wi-fi is available free of charge.

Food is served all day, seven days a week and menus change monthly with each outlet playing host to events and offers like ladies nights and set menus. Music policy depends on the time of day, ranging from classic background to uplifting dance at weekend nights.

The breakfast menu offers, among other choices, the typical English Fat Cat breakfast. The all day menu is extensive and has good choices, and is best known for sandwiches that include crispy chicken focaccia, smoked haddock rarebit and lamb tandoori naan.

Amongst the starters, expect to find grilled chorizo salad, potato skins and homemade fishcakes. If you like to keep it simple, the rustic chilli con carne is a good option - you could also add a bowl of nachos to it. Mains could offer beer battered haddock and chips, and favourites like bangers and mash, char-grilled salmon fillet or spinach and black olive gnocchi.

There are popular desserts like chocolate and apricot torte and Italian lemon cake for those wanting to give their meal a sweet end.

A large selection of wines, spirits, bottled products, cocktails and cask conditioned ales makes up their wine menu. The list also mentions liqueur coffees and non-alcoholic beverages.

Centrally located in Nottingham, The Cumin Restaurant is close to many of the city's attractions and is a more recent venture of the Anand family, well known for its restaurants. Split across two floors, the first is ideal for private functions whilst the ground floor is set for regular diners. Glass fronted, well spaced tables, excellent teak furnishing and hanging ceiling lamps all add to the classy décor

The cooking is a treat for the taste buds and a creative menu offers some flavoursome and precisely spiced Indian curries. Start with a til jhinga, batter fried king prawns coated with sesame seeds or a meat samosa, a deep fried triangular pastry filled with spicy minced lamb. For mains, filet of tilapia cooked in a medium spiced cumin curry and chicken tikka masala perfected in rich tomato creamy gravy are extremely popular dishes of the cuisine.

Close your meal at Cumin with a pistachio kulfi, a flavoured Indian ice cream or gajar halwa, a carrot and milk pudding flavoured with cardamom.
