Boat Inn, The

Located alongside the top lock of the seven canal locks at Stoke Bruerne on the Grand Union Canal, this lively waterside inn is more than just a much-loved local, providing a wide variety of food and entertainment for a widely-drawn clientele, including passing boaties, as well as those who just like the association with boats minus the ruinous cost of keeping them.

Bobby's

Not unsurprisingly Leicester has as fine a collection of curry houses as you could wish to find this side of Madras and many of them are concentrated in what has come to be known as Curry Mile. Bobby's is one of the well-established locations and has earned itself many accolades for its vegetarian approach to cuisine, but more recently has had a major revamp, making it one of, if not the first retro Indian restaurant in the area.

The good people of Leicestershire seem to be showing their appreciation of Sarah and Lino Poli's efforts to bring real Italian food to their area, though one wonders how much the proximity of East Midlands Airport has to do with this popularity.
