Cafe Rene
Tucked away in an old alleyway, Café Rene's nondescript exterior may be slightly deceptive, but step inside to find a charming little place with an off-beat décor. Situated in a Grade II listed building, it's worth taking time off to explore the interesting interior, which includes an old well in the centre of the room, walls and ceiling peppered with bottles appearing to defy gravity, and a dimly lit cellar bar underground.
- Address: 31 Southgate Street, Gloucester, GL1 1TP (Map)
- Cuisine(s): International, Traditional, British

Cafe Rouge - Cheltenham
Café Rouge has around one hundred branches throughout Britain all offering a wide range of dishes drawn from the French cuisine. Slightly less than half their branches are in or close to London. Almost inevitably the décor and design of each restaurant differs from the others, but there is a general curtsy towards La France.

- Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £21.00, Dinner: £26.00
Carrington’s Restaurant at Hatton Court
Built in the style of a 17th century Manor House, Hatton Court offers superb views across the Severn and Malvern Hills. The emphasis is on quiet luxury, an inclination that happily extends into the dining room where standards are high.

- Cuisine(s): English
- Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £25.00, Dinner: £42.00
Cazes, Les
Formerly called 'Beaujolais' and then 'Le Sacre Fleur', this is a reasonably priced French restaurant, just off the main tourist area; what they charge is very sensible for Cheltenham, while quality is praised.
- Address: 15 Rotunda Terrace, Montpelier Street, Cheltenham, GL50 1SW (Map)
- Cuisine(s): French
- Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: N/A, Dinner: N/A
Champignon Sauvage, Le
Cheltenham conjures up images of rows of wonderful Georgian houses and a thoroughly elegant image. However, you will find Le Champignon Sauvage is situated in a rather more mundane street, though quite close to the centre of town.

- Cuisine(s): French
- Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £40.00, Dinner: £64.00
