ASK - Worcester

For some time I made the mistake of thinking that no group of restaurants in the region of 200 locations could hope to maintain the quality for which I was looking. Then one day I decided to put my prejudices to the test, walked into Oxford Ask! and discovered that I could not have been more mistaken.

  • Cuisine(s): Pizza & Pasta
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: N/A, Dinner: £22.00

Bear and Ragged Staff

Bear and Ragged Staff is one of those cheerful refuges that help you completely disassociate from the cares of the world outside. It is situated in the shade of two oak trees at Bransford, near Malvern, in the glorious Worcestershire countryside.

  • Address: Station Road, Bransford, Worcester, WR6 5JH (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Modern European, Gastropub
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £20.00, Dinner: £35.00

Bell & Cross Inn

This welcoming pub and restaurant has the distinction of being owned and run by Roger Narbett and his wife Joanne. Roger cares for the culinary wellbeing of the England football team, and possibly finding this a touch less than fully demanding, also runs two inns of his own, of which this is one.

  • Address: Belbroughton Road, Holy Cross, nr Kidderminster, DY9 9QL (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Modern European
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: N/A, Dinner: £36.00

Bell, The

From the outside The Bell displays a pretty acceptable version of the mock Gothic style. Inside it's a very different story. Described by one critic as an " aggressively rural alehouse", The Bell offers a warm welcome, an inspiring collection of beers, including Timothy Taylor's Best Bitter, alleged to be the only source of Bitter (not Landlord) from that brewery, south of the mystical line alleged to separate the men from the boys.

  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £16.00, Dinner: £28.00

Belle House

  • Address: Bridge Street, Pershore, WR10 2AJ (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Modern European
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £20.00, Dinner: £36.00

Brown's Restaurant

Modern, light and spacious, Brown's is a converted grain mill on the banks of the River Severn. The architecture has been accepted as classic 80's award winning (RIBA). Ideally positioned in the city centre but outside the bustle of the town, the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed.

  • Address: The Old Cornmill, South Quay, Worcester, WR1 2JJ (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): English, Modern
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £36.00, Dinner: £48.00

Cafe Rouge - Worcester

Café Rouge has around one hundred branches throughout Britain all offering a wide range of dishes drawn from the French cuisine. Slightly less than half their branches are in or close to London. Almost inevitably the décor and design of each restaurant differs from the others, but there is a general curtsy towards La France.

  • Address: 5 Friar Street, Worcester, WR1 2LZ (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): French
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £21.00, Dinner: £26.00
