Bell Inn, The
Deep in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside, The Bell is an outstanding 17th century inn complete with exposed beams, flagstone floors, oak furniture, open fireplaces and a warm welcome. The refuge has been providing refreshment for over 300 years, and according to local history, William Shakespeare was on his way back to Stratford in the rain after meeting Drayton and Ben Johnson for a drink at The Bell in Welford when he contracted fatal pneumonia.

Bell, The
From the outside The Bell displays a pretty acceptable version of the mock Gothic style. Inside it's a very different story. Described by one critic as an " aggressively rural alehouse", The Bell offers a warm welcome, an inspiring collection of beers, including Timothy Taylor's Best Bitter, alleged to be the only source of Bitter (not Landlord) from that brewery, south of the mystical line alleged to separate the men from the boys.
