A Grade II listed Georgian building, The Collingwood Arms Hotel in Cornhill has been lovingly made over in collaboration with award-winning architects and local craftsmen to restore it to its best. Having worked up an appetite after casting for salmon in the River Tweed, which passes only yards away, or exploring the splendid countryside around, guests can enjoy wholesome traditional fare with gusto in the subtle splendour of its Dining Room.
Serving appetising seasonal home style dishes, the kitchen team uses only the best, locally-sourced ingredients for the daily changing menu. A tranquil garden in the rear offer diners the opportunity to eat alfresco during the summer months. The comfortable bar, embellished with warm oak and antique leather, is just the place to sit back and relax and put away a few local beers, a glass of fine wine or a dram of some excellent Scotch whisky. And, if it's too late to return home consider putting up for the night in one of the hotel's rooms named after ships that took part in the Battle of Trafalgar.

Located on Bridge Street in the beautiful Northumberland market town of Morpeth this venue brings a new dimension in enjoyment and relaxation to the perceptive diner. Craster kipper rillette, brown bread and lemon and cauliflower and baby onion risotto are ideally suited for a mid-day meal. For supper try more substantial options such as pan fried fillet of salmon, crushed heritage potatoes and caponata and 9oz rump of steak, with hand cut chips, tomatoes, mushrooms and sauce béarnaise. If you like desserts than you'll be spoilt for choice as the menu lists many tempting specials such as pear and almond tart and chocolate marquise with caramelized banana puree and honey comb.

A pleasant Georgian coaching inn with brasserie and lofty first-floor dining room. The fare is imaginative and generally succeeds. Tuesday nights specialise in fish. Try the Dover sole terrine with pear and ginger marmalade or perhaps the baked sea bream with orange butter sauce.
From the fairly brief carte menu it is possible to have some dishes as first or main courses. Particularly good are pink calf's liver and provencale fish soup.
A kind wine list of about thirty plus are generally below the £20 mark and four house wines are below £10.
