Having moved to new, more spacious premises in Wallasey Village, Cromwells Restaurant returned to business as usual serving fresh and home-cooked food to the people of Wirral at an affordable price, as they have for many years. With its simple, understated décor, and inviting ambience, the restaurant attracts a large number of locals, serving a variety of British cuisine made from organic ingredients and sourced from local suppliers.

The restaurant has a varied menu with most dishes being handmade and fresh, including starters of North Atlantic prawns pan-fried with ginger, spring onions and fresh chillies and served on a bed of lettuce, or fantail of melon finished with fresh raspberry coulis and winter berries. Hearty mains include penne topped with tomato, chilli and spinach sauce, slow cooked lamb shanks with sprigs of home-grown mint and free range chicken breast roasted with black pepper and topped with peppercorn sauce.

To finish, diners can choose from a daily desserts menu or selection of local cheeses all complemented by a good selection of fine wines, real ales and ciders.

Mak Syed Restaurant opened its doors to the people of Wallasey Village in 1991, and has since, become well known amongst the locals as a warm and friendly Indian dining destination. Syed and his three sons ensure the food and service exceeds expectations at all times.

The menu features classics as well as Mak Syed's very own recipes. Consider a selection of tikkas and kebabs, billato moris or prawn stuffed capsicum, complemented by flavoursome malagatawni soup to start. Among classic dishes chicken shashlik and the much loved tikka masala vie for attention with curries such as the mild Kashmiri, creamy kurma, sweet and sour dhansak, and fiery Madras, or vindaloo.

Mak's exclusive creations are protected by copyright, open with the Mak Syed Special and include names such as Bollywood Dream, Jewel in the Crown, Achari, and Badshahi Jinga. Vegetarian side dishes range from spicy Bombay potatoes to lentil tarka daal. Pilau rice, and Indian breads such as nan, roti and paratha accompany the food.

Desserts take in chocolate gateaux and Haagen Daaz ice creams.
