The local theme extends to the actual dishes which include the chef's take on the city's favourite dish, scouse. Signature dishes include turbot with crab tortellini, Ridings estate lamb rump and Goosnargh chicken breast and crispy leg. Also sample Lancashire wood pigeon, pancetta and chestnut salad with blackberry dressing or braised and roasted Pennine venison and slow-cooked faggot with baby turnips and mulled pears. Number 7 has a double whammy being close to the University and bang slap in between Liverpool's two famous Cathedrals. Essentially a snack place, but not just your ordinary snacks, these are imaginative, tasty and don't cost an arm and a leg. An ideal place for a swift and enjoyable lunch with your eyes fixed on dinner as the culinary event of the day - but not here, they close at 7 pm. Good friendly atmosphere, the sort of place that makes you wish you were back at uni - but you'll cope!
