Opus One (Perth)
This may be the youngest fine dining in the city but my God it was amazing. The gorgeous four course meal was the ultimate gourmand experience. Each course was beautifully cooked and presented, and the taste was just sublime. The service was spotless and attentive and we couldn’t expect anything more. Don’t forget to leave place for the dessert. I will definitely make my way back to the Opus One to sample some more of this great restaurant's food.
Hafez Restaurant (Bayswater & Maida Vale)
Hafez is definitely my favourite Persian restaurant. They have fresh traditional dishes made daily, delicious kebabs and starters, which go well with the freshly baked bread. I hugely recommend this restaurant for quality food.
Patisserie Valerie - Portland Place (Mayfair, Soho & Fringes)
I had superb eggs Benedict for a chilled Sunday brunch and it seemed as if the heavens had opened. The pastries were also divine and I can't wait to go back for more.
Sachins Restaurant (Newcastle-upon-Tyne)
This is undoubtedly the best Indian restaurant in the North East. Not only is the food consistently superb, but the hospitality and ambience are second to none.
Indali Lounge (Mayfair, Soho & Fringes)
The décor is nice and the concept is new, but what about the basics; food and service. Both lack consistency, and the food portions are very small. When we ordered a dish for four people in our group, it came in one small bowl. The presentation was uninspiring, and you can get better than that in a kebab shop. The service was lost, and the staff were looking very tired and working like robots. They didn't even know what they are selling. When I asked the staff if the food contained nuts, they didn’t even know. What a shambles.
Tai Pan - Liverpool (Liverpool)
I have eaten at the Tai Pan once, and that was in September for my boyfriend’s mother’s birthday. I found the food was absolutely lovely. The members of staff were so friendly, and made us feel so welcome. It is by far the cleanest restaurant I have ever been to. Because of the wonderful time we had in September I have just booked a table for my mother’s birthday. It really is a place to look forward to going. Thanks.
Aangan (Reading)
The food is served in stone-cold metal dishes, and the quantity is very less compared to the prices charged. On top of that you have to pay a 12.5% service charge for non-existent service.
Hinds Head, The (Bray)
What a joy to find such a quality inn as the Hinds Head. We were a little cautious to start with on reading some previous reviews, but this was very soon dissolved. The whole experience was great, and the balance of flavour and quality of the ingredients was superb. A big plus also to the in house training of the members of staff, various questions were put to our waitress as to terms or content of the menu, to which was given an instant and factual reply.
Carluccio's - St John's Wood (Hampstead & St John's Wood)
We just had breakfast at Carluccio's - St John's Wood. It was tasty enough and the coffee was okay, but the serving was small and the eggs etc came with just one small piece of toast – ciabatta - which was wafer-thin. Trying to save a few pence on toast made it pretty disappointing.
Porters English Restaurant (Covent Garden & Theatreland)
Earlier this week, my husband and I visited Porters restaurant on spec for a meal on his 50th birthday before going on to a show. We had such a lovely time we came back again the following night. Good atmosphere, great food and the staff.......they provided excellent
customer service. Porters - you should be proud of them! Its good to see that old fashioned values still apply somewhere in this country.
