Seahorse Seafood Bistro and Restaurant, The (Llandudno)
We arrived just after 4.30pm in Tuesday, ideal for those wishing to indulge after an afternoon of shopping. The parking is easy at that time at the top end of Mostyn Street and entrance to the restaurant is via steps down to a cosy dining area. The tables are not too close together, I think they are oak, very nice. The décor is a little arty and the whole place has a good quality feel. Specials are shown on the board above the fireplace and there is a wide range of food available, not just fish dishes. Between the three of us, we had monkfish in Parma ham, cold poached salmon and prawn salad, plaice, duck and beef. The food was very well prepared, tasty and generous portions, so much so, we had no room for desserts, so next time we will have mains and desserts! They owners came over for a chat, they are very friendly and professional. This restaurant is easily on a par with another one in Glanwydden and we will definitely pay another visit. Our comments on the drive back to Chester were that we have found another gem of a place.
Bear & Ragged Staff, The (Oxford)
I went to the Bear and Ragged Staff with a couple of friends in mid-November and had a very good meal. I heard that the new owner of the place had found an excellent new chef who was continuing the work of rehabilitating this old Oxford landmark. The rumours of good food being cooked here turned out to be spot on. We started with the charcuterie platter, pumpkin and paprika soup, and Asian fish cakes. The pumpkin soup was apparently sourced from a garden in Cumnor as was the paprika, you can't get much more local than that, just around the corner! The Asian fish cakes were made solely from fish, no potato, just as they should be. Our mains were heavenly, the rib eye just melted in the mouth, the venison steak was the best I had ever tried, and the noises emanating from the person eating the pork belly roast can only be described as rapturous. We had no room for dessert, although we did check out the wine list, a very interesting selection indeed. We had the Les Terres Rousses Syrah Merlot, which at just over £16 per bottle was really good value. Including coffees, we came out with a bill for three around £70. I will be back, though this time I will bring more friends, these guys are trying hard and they deserve the support.
Lumpini Thai Restaurant (Dunstable)
I have eaten at many Thai restaurants around the world and this is without doubt up there with the best. The food was so fresh and tasted wonderful, we had our party at Lumpini and everybody ordered a different main course and then we all shared the food the Thai way, everybody agreed with me. The staff are friendly and service is great, I would recommended to all my friends.
Lumpini Thai Restaurant (Dunstable)
Lumpini is one of the best Thai restaurants I have been to. I'm Thai and I can't find any other Thai restaurant that can cook proper traditional food like Lumpini does. The service is great and the staff are friendly, I’d recommend you go there for authentic Thai food.
Frankie & Benny's New York Italian Restaurant & Bar - Wigan (Wigan)
I absolutely love it. The food is excellent and the waiters and waitress’s are brilliant. The food is cooked properly and the desserts are to die for. Make sure you starve yourself all day before going to Frankie and Benny’s because there are large portions, especially the burgers and pasta dishes, not forgetting the steaks. I would highly recommend it to everyone, including children – yum.
Christopher's - Covent Garden (Covent Garden & Theatreland)
I have been to Christopher’s many times now and would highly recommend it as one of the best cocktail bars I have ever been to. The quality of their cocktails is second to none, hence I always make sure that I visit when I am in London. Additionally, the restaurant offers an exceptional value for money and a very well thought and exquisite menu. Christopher’s is a true gem and one place definitely worth visiting when you fancy a quality tipple or a delicious meal. I would highly recommend to everyone.
Petit Paris, Le (Edinburgh)
I have visited this restaurant many times. The food is always excellent and I particularly recommend the Petit Paris stew of the day and the amazing traditional French black pudding with its own mustard and apple compote. You’re totally immersed in the French atmosphere. The chef and staff are all very friendly and helpful. It’s a great location in the historic part of Edinburgh - a must to discover during your visit.
Tandoori Nights - Covent Garden (Covent Garden & Theatreland)
I really enjoyed my experience at Tandoori Nights. The food was great and the service was very warm and efficient. The décor is inviting and they have a fantastic wine and cocktail menu, which is reasonably priced for West End. All in all a good place to eat and the atmosphere was pleasantly lively for a Tuesday night.
Tapas Tree Restaurant (Shipley)
I had my birthday party at the Tapas Tree Restaurant and it was an excellent evening. The food was tasty and very fresh, warm atmosphere and very friendly people. I will recommend this place to all my friends.
Enzo's Ristorante (Enfield)
I celebrated my 50th birthday with my family at Enzo’s – the staff are lovely, the food is excellent and there is something to suit everyone. We had jugs of cocktails and danced the night away and the DJ was happy to play the tunes we asked for; a fantastic night was had by all.
