Duddleswell Tea Rooms (Crowborough)
We have been there a couple of times and it's always busy, because it's wonderful. After an invigorating walk across the forest, all you need is a pot of tea and a yummy slice of delicious cake or scone with jam and cream to pick you up for the homeward tramp. It’s highly recommended.
ASK - Twickenham (Twickenham)
I had a midday pre-rugby match booking for four, and five of us turned up and all were seated without fuss. The specials menu was excellent with some of the best butterfly prawns I’ve tasted. Great linguini, sharp service and a quick pre match turn around. Great meal and far better than the £100 premium pre-match menus being offered by other Twickenham restaurants.
Zia Teresa (Chelsea & South Kensington)
We stumbled upon this place when leaving Harrods the other day. Hungry, but not expecting much, except perhaps hefty prices, we were all pleasantly surprised. What a charming, and extremely affordable place. House specialities of linguine vongole and the fettucine were both delish. We'd have stayed longer if we didn’t have a train to catch, as the atmosphere was so relaxing. It’s highly recommended.
Cottons - Camden (Camden, Islington & Marylebone)
I have visited Cottons on several occasions, twice in the last two months, and every time I'm impressed with the service and the gorgeous food I order. I'm glad I have this opportunity to tell them what a fantastic job they are doing, I'll be visiting again on Saturday, this time for lunch.
Brasserie Gerard - Bishops Stortford (Bishop's Stortford)
Six of us had dinner there last Friday. Fabulous food and good service – it’s highly recommended.
Mill Restaurant, The (Stone)
We went for a mid-week meal in the early evening. The food and service were lovely and we would definitely recommend it.
Red Mezze (Newcastle-upon-Tyne)
An excellent meal in pleasant surroundings with friendly staff - this was my first visit and I will definitely be back.
Il Bertorelli - Stratford (Stratford-upon-Avon)
My husband, two friends and I visited this restaurant a week ago in the evening. The staff, the service and especially the food were all absolutely wonderful. Try the antipasti plate, a shared starter which, in my opinion, is big enough for four people: it has an enticing mix of flavours and colours. It was my friend's birthday and we were seated at a lovely window table. The birthday girl even got a birthday candle in her dessert along with good wishes from the waiter. All in all, I heartily recommend this restaurant for all ages and tastes.
Christopher's - Covent Garden (Covent Garden & Theatreland)
My husband and I had a super night recently at Christopher’s in Covent Garden. The atmosphere in the restaurant was good and we enjoyed the stylish open layout of the dining room. The staff were helpful and the food was wonderfully prepared and presented. We would thoroughly recommend anyone to give it a try.
Sahib's (Northwood)
If you're a fan of authentic Indian food, fresh, full of flavour and spicy, then you can't go wrong with Sahib's. I'm a big fan of these restaurants, which are much better than the 'English Indian' restaurants that sell dishes like chicken tikka masala and Madras. Instead you should really try Sahib's lamb chops, mixed grill, mogo or cassava and jeera chicken for a real taste of good Indian cuisine.
