Abbots Restaurant and Bar (Huntingdon)

We have eaten there several times and were always looked after well. The quality of the food is excellent and so are the portions. We particularly like the fresh, locally sourced ingredients. It’s great value for money and well worth a visit.

Fakhreldine (Mayfair, Soho & Fringes)

I am extremely pleased with the choice to eat at Fakhreldine. Great food, service and atmosphere made the already fantastic evening better. Good value for money and definitely a place everyone should try out. It's not likely you will go there only go once. I will be visiting again soon.

Bombay Bicycle Club - Holland Park (Kensington & Notting Hill)

I had a meal in this restaurant expecting good variety and quality but disappointed to report then that the meal was bland, hugely expensive at two drinks, one curry, one chapati, one daal for nearly £30, including service, which was basic and inattentive even though the place was not busy. The most surprising thing was the lack of variety in the menu. I had sat down and ordered a drink before realising the menu was so restricted and when I asked whether I could order anything outside the menu it was refused. At the end of a very unsatisfying meal I asked for the service charge of approximately 12.5% to be removed, which it wasn’t and rather than argue I would like to share my experience in this site.

Frankie & Benny's New York Italian Restaurant & Bar - Brighton (Brighton)

I think that Frankie and Benny's is great. My friends and I always go there for birthday parties. They can handle big groups really well and I would definitely go there.

Jamie's Italian - Oxford (Oxford)

Well Done Jamie! The food tastes great, well presented and well priced. Now I go there weekly and the drinks menu is very good too. However, the service could be improved; not in the bar but the restaurant.

Cafe Rouge - Cardiff Mermaid Quay (Cardiff)

I have eaten at Cafe Rouge on several occasions, and the food and service has always been excellent. The menu was varied and very affordable. It’s a wonderful setting, especially on a warm day. Close your eyes and listen to the French music playing in the background - you could be in Paris! If you're going to the Bay, I highly recommend this place.

Hanam's (Edinburgh)

At Hanam’s there is excellent value, home style cooking with a real emphasis on relaxed dining. I loved the waiter's outfit and I believe the members of staff are liable to break out into some traditional dancing when the mood takes them! I would definitely go back.

Six Bells at Newdigate, The (Dorking)

I don’t have much to say really other than the fantastic food that is offered there for a country pub. What is even more impressive is that it was busy as well. Thank you Six Bells.

Browns Bar & Brasserie - Bath (Bath)

Brunch, lunch, dinner or just cocktails - we love it there. The members of staff are always friendly and very helpful even when there are queues outside the door. Excellent varied menu, which is good value for money and delicious cocktails. The decor is classic and even when it's packed the building lends itself to a feeling of space without being impersonal. Love it!

Brasserie Chez Gerard - Bury St Edmunds (Bury St Edmunds)

My husband and I went to this restaurant one Sunday evening and we thought the standard of food was poor. We were served tiger prawns with a lemon and tomato dip, which was out of date and therefore 'fizzy'. We complained and eventually the manager came over and he was somewhat perplexed and couldn't seem to understand what the problem was. We have also spoken to other people who have eaten there only to find out that neither they nor we will ever eat there again.

When one of the country's most respected and leading critics says that a restaurant in this group is 'the best Italian Restaurant outside London' it is time to take them seriously. Britain's love ...
