I have eaten there twice and enjoyed on both occasions. The staff are friendly. I didn’t know they charge for olives and pita bread brought to table before ordering, will watch this next time. They have a nice atmosphere and the music is great.

My wife and I went to Alla Turca in January and thought it was great. The service was good; our table was perfect, the restaurant was very busy, and our food was outstanding. The music was great - relaxing and perfect combination to go with dinner. We highly recommend it.

We went there for lunch with a group of friends and weren’t very impressed to say the least. The fact that we were the only ones in on a Friday afternoon at lunchtime should have told us something. We had two mixed mezze for starters, which were pretty sparse to say the least. I opted for the rib eye steak at £15. It arrived neatly presented but there was more fat than steak on this piece of meat - not good value at all. I also noticed just about every member of our party's crockery had big chips missing including the mezze dishes; this is very unhygienic and not acceptable. Drinks were very expensive, a glass of wine came to £6 and soft drinks were just as pricey. Tap water wasn't available, something I have never experienced in a restaurant before, and I guess this was to encourage you to buy an overpriced bottle of water at an eye watering £2.99. Then they automatically charged us a 10% service charge, as they do for everyone - who's doing who a favour here - we were the only people in the restaurant. A service charge is something to not to be found in Glasgow. If service is good we leave a tip but after paying these high prices I wouldn't have bothered.

We ate at Alla Turca for a birthday celebration and thought it was lovely. We had the mixed mezze to start - all delicious, as was the main course. For dessert I had the chocolate mousse, which is the nicest I have ever tasted. The service was also fantastic, with friendly staff - our waitress was great and made the most amazing cosmopolitans. We were also given complimentary champagne, which was a nice touch. We will definitely go back.

This was our second visit as we like to give new places the benefit of the doubt; but wish we hadn't. The portions were very small and the food was not particularly well cooked. Overall, poor value for money. We were both still hungry after a £75 meal. Service is painfully slow and worst of all is the ten percent service charge automatically added to the bill.

Having lived in Turkey some years ago, I was delighted to find a proper restaurant serving an excellent, if limited, Turkish menu with a great ambience - live music being a great bonus. After two recent visits in close succession, and having converted my family to the joys of Turkish cuisine, it's hugely disappointing to report that we won't be going back. The problems lie with the service. They were careless and did not bother to match orders with deliveries and made petty attempts to overcharge us. They won't, for example, allow a combination of set menu and a la carte meals on the same table. That is, if my three guests order one of the set menus and I order a la carte, we pay a la carte prices for everything!

Shared mezes starter was a great choice, especially the borck, Shish was really succulent and exceptionally well presented. Crème brûlée was even better than Gordon Ramsay's. Good value, excellent food, we would definitely return. It’s a great location within walking distance of King's theatre.

That’s another first class meal from Alla Turca. Great atmosphere with live music, super value for money and friendly attentive service is what I experienced. Only quibble would be that the wine is a bit expensive, but wouldn’t stop us going back.

My husband and I visited the restaurant a few weeks ago on a Friday night, we both love Turkish food so were really looking forward to it. As you enter, the surroundings are gorgeous and the place is lit with a lot of candles, I could not fault the food as I had lamb kofte to start and it was delicious, but the portion was tiny, I then had monkfish to follow and my husband had the lamb, portions again were tiny. We ordered the house Turkish red wine, which was the cheapest on the menu but we could hear the waiter advising people not to drink the red house wine as it was rubbish, which seems strange as I can assure you it was lovely, no tap water was allowed so you had to pay a few pounds for a bottle of water, The waiter was constantly filling your glass up which is obviously a ploy to get you to buy more wine, and at the end they had a cheek to slap a £7 service charge onto the bill. Our bill came to a whopping £77 for two people, and to be honest I left still feeling quite hungry. It’s a shame because the place could be lovely. It is ruined by the greediness of the owners or management.
