I have never been inspired to write a review until now. Last night we had a truly great meal at Anong Thai and the welcoming was warm, the décor and atmosphere were good, the service provided by Kitty was faultless and the cuisine was absolutely superb. The presentation and aromas of the freshly prepared food was very good but the flavours were amazing. We had the mixed starters for two which included gai bai toey - Thai chicken in a pandan leaf and amongst other dishes, kaeng kiew wahn - Thai green curry with chicken. Those two dishes were the highlights of our superb meal. I recommend you try Anong Thai and you won't be disappointed.

We had a lovely dinner at Anong Thai this evening. The environment was clean and bright and we were greeted by Paul who looked after us very well. The food was yummy. We started with chicken in pandan leaf - it was very moist and tasty, this was followed by a spicy prawn dish for me and a red chicken curry for my partner. We enjoyed our food so much; we couldn't resist trying the banana fritters with ice cream. I'm glad we did - they were delicious, the fritters were round with a delicately crispy batter. With one soft drink and a beer and some prawn crackers to start, our bill came to just over £30 - very good value indeed and I hope to be back there soon. Many thanks to Paul and the chefs.

I think they serve the best Thai food in High Wycombe. Friendly staff, good service and excellent food - it was well worth a visit.

Anong Thai is an absolute gem and surpassed expectations. The food was delicious, plentiful and there was a wide choice. Service was excellent and we certainly would visit again.

I stayed in Thailand for a month and ate out side food cooked from fresh natural ingredients on a daily basis, no western food (chocolate, sausages etc., I'm not big into detox diets etc, but I must say I felt physically and mentally fantastic after eating such nutritious food. When I got back to the UK, I craved non processed, natural but delicious tasting Thai food. Anong Thai really satisfied my craving; the food is exceptional, authentic Thai food. The value is very good and the staff very amicable. I thoroughly recommend it.

This restaurant is a pure delight, the food is exquisite! It is a pure traditional home cooked Thai food, the flavours are playing in your palate and will transport you directly to Thailand! The staff is very nice and smiley. A restaurant not to miss!

You cannot beat this place! My partner and I are frequent customers - our only problem with the restaurant is choosing what to have. Everything we have had so far has been delicious!

Anong Thai is amazing, it has the best Thai food this side of Phang Na! Extremely tasty and beautifully cooked food at trim prices and great service. I'm not a massive spicy hot food person, but can strongly recommend the massamun curry, pad thai or the pad king. To be fair though it all looks awesome! Ta.

Simply love it, love it, love it! I come from Malaysia and was homesick for my home cooking. I was desperate to find something hot and tangy in this cold country then I found Anong Thai. It just couldn't get any better when my husband fell in love with it too. I would recommend this to those who loves hot and spicy food (they do tend to ask you if you like that!).

Anong Thai is a gem of a restaurant. Open a full two years now it is small (26 covers?), simple in a clean, modern way and beautifully maintained. I try to eat here once a week and in all my visits it has never disappointed whilst friends and family have always left greatly impressed. Paul and Kitty own the restaurant and at least one is ever present whilst Kitty's sister cooks. It is a happy formula and the food is without equal in town. The restaurant is easily found in Desborough Road (off Desborough Avenue which practically links the A40 to the M40 at Handy Cross) and although the area may not be the prettiest, it is quite safe with ample parking in the vicinity, so it really is worth seeking out.
Familiar favourites are all very good so perhaps the Tod Mun; Tom Yum Soup and Pad Thai can serve as bench marks, but is with the wonderful, hot zesty salads the place really begins to score so highly with me: Yam Talay is a lovely concoction with seafood whilst Nan Tok Moo is a minty pork triumph. Sea bass is expertly and delicately presented half a dozen fine ways whilst the seafood Panang (scallops, prawns and squid in a red curry sauce with lime and coconut cream) and Kaeng Phed Ped Yang (duck red curry with coconut milk, pineapple and tomatoes) are simply (or perhaps not so simply!) gorgeous. But the choice is tremendous and you can hardly go wrong.
Everything is served on immaculate white china and the efficient service provided by Kitty and Paul is charming and informative. The restaurant will surely appeal to those who know and enjoy Viet Hoa Cafe in Shoreditch or the eponymous Wagamama chain but Anong Thai's appeal is in fact much broader. Thai beer is available and also a small but very cleverly chosen selection of wine. The house wines (Chilean) are good and available by the glass at £3 and there is currently a beautifully perfumed and intense Gewürztraminer from Alsace at £18 a bottle that I enjoyed New Year's Eve with my brother and a family friend a
