There is a real quirky side to this place. Traditional food with atmosphere – it’s worth a visit.

Great atmosphere, relaxed good food and wine – that’s all I ask and that’s what I got.

I visited Bar 163 with a friend and was really impressed. The place is stylish without being pretentious and the members of staff are friendly and efficient, without being phoney or intrusive. The food was delicious and well priced - generous servings, much better than the ubiquitous chains that are taking over everywhere. Great atmosphere, most people seemed to be regulars and I can quite see why. I'm not a wine expert but the house wine was fine and at a reasonable price, about £12 I think, which is normal. I think it's a family business - long may it last and I wish there were more like it.

The atmosphere was good, I especially enjoyed the music. The service was good to average and the members of staff were polite, however the food was a bit bland despite the amount that was charged. On a scale of 10, I would probably give the staff 6, the atmosphere 8.5 and the food 5.5.

Having visited many restaurants in the Egham area it is refreshing to find one where the above criteria are truly met.
