I have had many a good meal there, location is great and the food is very good value with good size portions and the service is great. It brings in a very nice clientele and has a good atmosphere as it’s always busy! You won't be disappointed. We have never had a bad meal.

I have eaten there several times between February and May 2008 with my girlfriend, and always found the food excellent and the service friendly and informal. There is also a great atmosphere on a Friday or Saturday night.

I spent an evening there with five colleagues and it was the first visit for most of us. We thoroughly enjoyed their quality food and the waiting staff were top class. We hope to be back sometime in the summer.

This is in response to the smoking incident on the 24th December from Marika! You fail to mention that your friend was asked numerous times to stop smoking there by numerous staff members and the manger and she refused to stop. Those three brass tables where you were seated are NON SMOKING! Rules are rules and you should abide to them. Read the sign when you walk in 'all rights reserved', you should know what that means. Why should the staff have to deal with inconsiderate patrons like your friend? The Belvedere is a great place and doesn’t need patrons that think they own the place to be there.

I live in Ascot, and I spend many nights in the Belvedere Arms... it’s amazing, great food, great company and a great place to spend the evening! Thank you! I could not choose a better place to go!

Review by Marika (24 December 2005)

I have eaten in this restaurant numerous times and had a very good experience - until now! Xmas eve - I booked a table for my friend and I - we had a great meal, spent over £100 in the restaurant, then we went to sit in the bar area so my friend could have a cigarette as the restaurant was non-smoking. The bar area was full, so we took a seat next to the entrance 1 metre away from the smoking area, and I bought us both a drink. To cut a long story short, we experienced the worst customer service I think I've ever experienced! And I'm an event manager, and my friend is a procurement manager so we have seen it all! We were very polite and explained we could not get a seat a metre away from where we were sitting so that we were within the so called smoking area (even though the smoking area was not defined), to which the manager - GAVIN! told us either put it out or leave! I'm a non-smoker and I was very shocked by his aggressive attitude, then he took our drinks away from us and told us to leave then stormed off! Furious is not quite the word I would use to describe this man! Not once were we aggressive/rude/not open to compromise - so I was disgusted by the way we were treated.

One question we did ask ourselves was - if we were men - would we have experienced the same aggressive behaviour from him? Even the other customers in the restaurant were shocked! So, in conclusion, if you wish to experience customer service at its worst, and the most appalling aggressive behaviour from a so called general manager - then go ahead! I wish you well! Otherwise I suggest, like me, you look for a more professional venue for your dinner.

The place blew me away! Very tastefully decorated, the restaurant is cosy and totally relaxed. The staff are friendly and very professional, and the food is honest, well thought out and very well presented. The pizzas in particular are not to be missed - perfect base and imaginative toppings. I could not recommend it more - especially good on a Sunday afternoon following a walk around Virginia Water.

We ate at the Belvedere Arms on a Sunday. Two people chose the beef sirloin roast from the specials, one had cod and chips, another the linguine with prawns and salmon. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food. The beef was the most tender roast I have ever eaten, the gravy was to die for. We had pear tart tatin with vanilla ice cream afterwards, which was perfect. THE place for a lazy relaxed Sunday lunch with friends.
