The food is good there with brilliant mussels and oysters, which we had to start. The lamb shanks with cous cous and apricots was very African, whilst the sautéed scallops with chorizo was excellently balanced. We enjoyed the cheese, which was simply local and very tasty. Merlot was our choice of wine, which came from the Languedoc. Good grub indeed there and most recommended.

I had a really excellent meal and good wine at a reasonable price. The menu was innovative with good produce, my beef was perfectly cooked to my liking and superb texture. Puddings were also a treat. I will certainly head to Bistro One on my next visit to Plymouth. Well done.

We found Bistro One by chance when visiting Plymouth. As we both loved seafood we gorged ourselves on tasty local oysters, scallops and monkfish. Their simple approach to local produce makes for an excellent bistro. We also enjoyed some Sharpham wine from Devon with our choices. I was informed that there are plenty of new dishes throughout the year so we will return. We had very good house wine and coffee. I’d recommended it.
