I ate at The Bistro in September and the food and service were top class, £42 for two including a very good house red. I was too full for puddings so just had a starter and a main course. There is only room for about eighteen people so you need to book in advance.

I visited in April and June, and both meals were first class. The house wine was fine, actually very good value for money as is the food. Definitely the class act is Barmouth gastronomy. Some traditional Welsh fare such as Glamorgan sausages and cowl sometimes appear on the relatively short menu and are well worth trying.

Review by Steve and Clare (17 February 2006)

We enjoyed a fantastic meal here on Valentine's Night. Good choice on the set menu, the soup and the crayfish salad starters were wonderful, main course of steak was cooked to perfection, sweets and cheese & biscuits were also lovely. Very reasonably priced at just over £60 including coffee and two bottles of very nice red wine. We would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.
