We had a lovely meal at Browns. The baked camembert with grapes is a great starter to share and the chicken pappardelle was delicious. The whole meal, with drinks, was under £40, would definitely go again when in Brighton.

Always been a firm favourite. Last visit was with a group of 10. Menu remains interesting without being quirky. The food quality was good with decent ingredients and well presented. This is not fine dining but it is a pleasing experience. It's suitable if you want to eat out a reasonable cost and have food that is worth talking about. Service is friendly, prompt and not intrusive. You feel the staff want to be there and want you to enjoy being there too.

Having booked a table for a party of 14 - we met in the bar, which is a different building before moving through to the restaurant. Our table was 4 small ROUND tables pushed together, with all the gaps that brings. Worse was to come.
The waitress actually took the mickey out of some of our guests! The air-conditioning LEAKED and emptied itself on one of our party...the menu looked promising though so we stuck with it. Mistake. The "Suckling pig" one of use had, must have died of old age. Most peoples food was cold and although no one was aghast in horror - not one person said" Oh this is nice" Just for comedy value, we asked for 2 glasses of Port to cap us off. They checked and found that it had "run out at the weekend"! This was Wednesday night. WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THE PLACE AGAIN.
