I visited the restaurant recently with my husband and two young children. We were pleasantly welcomed, seated and the children were treated as individuals, which made a nice change. It took a while to choose as the menu is so vast. I opted for a flatbread and a steak cooked medium rare. My husband had steak pie, apparently a browns classic. The food was divine, and the service was fine. I would gladly recommend the restaurant to anyone.

I have used Browns many times and we have had many pleasant and good times there. The staff are very good, and it has become a favourite choice with our friends as well.

My wife and I chose this restaurant because of its wonderful location, we thought it would make a nice spot for an anniversary meal. We found that the service was unacceptably negligent. We waited for over 30 minutes for a waiter to take our order (drinks and food) and another 20 minutes for the bill. Another table waited even longer for their main meal! This was a midweek evening and the restaurant was not even full. Unless you enjoy being ignored and wondering if you have gone invisible, then I would not bother with this place. The appalling service overshadows any merits that this restaurant has to offer.

I tried to book a table in advance by speaking the plainest English, and was answered by someone who hardly understood English, and after quite a long while repeating myself I was told that they only take bookings for more than six persons. Then I asked how do people manage to get a table, is it on a first come first serve basis, or by other means. The person said “Well, not too sure, usually lots of people go to the bar and wait, but we cannot guarantee a table”. It doesn't seem a very positive response but to be honest rather off-putting. The person taking the booking should have explained to me all the rules and terms without me digging it out of him. I was quite surprised as it is a supposedly reputable restaurant!

Great restaurant, but not ideal for an hour's lunch break need to stay longer. Great bar for a drink in the evening. I found this restaurant to be very affordable and the food is superb.

Great location but unfortunately service on Sunday has let us down three times. Each time they were nice and offered free drinks or applied a discount but that does not make up for waiting all Sunday afternoon for food. If they get the service right it would be good.
