I spent New Years Eve at this restaurant with my husband and four friends. The atmosphere as usual was extremely friendly and two female musicians provided wonderful entertainment. The food was up to the usual high standards we expect from Bryce's. Excellent quality, beautifully cooked and well presented. A great start to 2007.

The food was excellent. However Sunday may not be the best night of the week and the staff were clearly tired. This probably resulted in our dessert wines not appearing with the pud so we cancelled them. That said the ambience is great and we will return, but probably on a different night!

I like nice things, places and restaurants. Whenever I want to impress a friend I take them as my guest to Bryce's Restaurant where I am assured of excellent food and service.
My wife and I are celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary this year, and we are asking some friends and neighbours out for a special dinner as our guests. We have selected Bryce's Restaurant as the venue and we know our friends will be impressed, all forty three of them.

The pan seared tuna starter was overcooked and not at all pink. Chilli and mussel porridge was tasty. Sea bream main was again over cooked but edible. Decor was dated and very cluttered. Overall the experience was okay but will not return in a hurry.

I could not fault the food or service. Had the scallops to start and the medallions of monkfish and stuffed squid. I can see why the place has won awards. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I always believe that a restaurant can be judged by the quality of the bread it offers. On this basis, Bryces had the potential to be a fabulous place as the cheese and mustard bread offered (as part of an extensive selection) was divine.
The starters myself and my friend ordered - queen scallops with bacon and the sashimi platter - were both beautifully presented, using very fresh ingredients. So far, so good.
The main courses were good, but not quite as good as anticipated by what had preceded them.
I ordered the monkfish, with a pepper sauce, served with potatoes anna. The fish was perfectly cooked, but the sauce was too flavoursome for the dish, and the potatoes were overcooked.
My friend ordered the red mullet. Beautifully presented, but the sesame sauce accompanying overpowered this delicate flavoured fish. A shame.
Overall though, the experience was a good one - I shall definitely return. Service was excellent, attentive without being overbearing.

2nd visit and the food was fantastic again, BUT we had taken some friends as a treat and when one of our party complimented the chef, the waitress returned saying the chef was pleased and would we like to buy him a drink! The poor service at this restaurant does not do justice to the menu, perhaps they should invest in some staff training as they have lost 4 customers with 1 comment.

Service was a little slow but the food was fantastic. Very reasonable price. If you like fish then this is the place to go. Specials board was HUGE.
