Review by Terry (20 January 2009)

I’ve been there on many occasion and felt always more than satisfied. Most recent visit was on Friday with party of eleven and everyone commented on the quality of the food, professionalism of staff and the final bill for what was an excellent evening was considerably less than expected.

I think the restricted lunchtime and early evening menu are excellent value. The members of staff are very welcoming with a high level of service. For a special occasion, they go out of their way to help, and decorate the table. It is well worth a visit. My family and I have also eaten from the full menu. The food is interesting; the only difficulty is in making a choice.

Review by A Lyon (19 March 2008)

I have recently been to their special Sunday lunches and I must say that it was thoroughly enjoyable. Front of house is superb and the food has been excellent. It’s a welcome change to go out on a Sunday afternoon, have good food and be entertained - all for a reasonable price. This is something which Dumfries has been lacking for years. I hope they continue with this.

It’s functional but not fabulous so, if you are a fine diner, then this may not be for you.

The Kings Head is a vital part of the leafy suburb of Winchmore Hill, and from its position on top of the hill it looks out over tracts of suburban London. But as Footloose Magazine put it, ' There's ...
