We recently dined at Casanis for our wedding anniversary, having chosen the restaurant based upon other reviews we had read on the web. The restaurant certainly exceeded our expectations. The dining room was simply but attractively laid out with a great atmosphere as it was busy on a Wednesday evening. The food was simply delicious, the wine list well founded and priced and the staff was charming and efficient. We eat in plenty of restaurants and whilst hopefully not overly critical we often find ourselves disappointed by one or more aspects of the establishments we visit. This was certainly not the case at Casanis where everything was first rate even to the efficiency with which they arranged a taxi for our dash to the station. Also the bill appeared very reasonable for the quality of dining we had enjoyed.

Magnificent place, super ambiance, menu, service, decor, and food; an absolute gem of a place. Kicks other pretentious French restaurants cleanly into touch. A great place for a date, a business lunch or family time - few places can accommodate formal and informal demands with equal aplomb. The food quality is really very good. A perfect offering in every single way.

I had a brilliant pre-theatre meal there with good wine at a very reasonable price. I arrived at the restaurant feeling tired after a day selling vintage clothes but left feeling really relaxed and happy.

We have eaten at Casanis a number of times with groups of friends, and have consistently found it to be the best food in Bath. The ambience was fantastic, the staff friendly and the food awesome. Last week we ate a particularly brilliant slow cooked lamb shank, which was tender and full of flavour. It came with parsnip mash, a root vegetable compote, and delicious thyme gravy. We highly recommend the place.

We had a fabulous dinner at this cosy bistro in the lovely Bath laneway. We were visiting from Sydney and travelling with four children - all of whom were made to feel very welcome. The menu is compact and cleverly covers all classic French bistro dishes beautifully. This place is highly recommended.

Having eaten at several restaurants all over the world, I think this meal ranks as one among the best. The only drawback is that you can choose just one starter, main and dessert. Service was attentive, competent and relaxed set in a delightful Provencal atmosphere.
